Is the STOTT PILATES® method better than other Pilates methods?
When new clients call and ask what kind of Pilates we offer at Pilates Northwest, often they have heard about STOTT® PILATES training and how this method differs from others. When this question is asked, we tell potential clients how much we love the STOTT® PILATES program and we talk to them about the extensive education, hard work and hours of practice that goes into getting fully certified in Pilates.

STOTT PILATES®
The STOTT PILATES® method is extremely well regarded in the Pilates industry. Its rigorous education, focus on safety and alignment, adaptability within exercises, attention to sports medicine science and its ease of use makes it one of the best. The STOTT PILATES® certification is a comprehensive course teaching principles of Pilates, cueing, imagery, postural analysis, theory, and practice of postural analysis, and more. The STOTT PILATES® certification teaches trainees to recognize and adapt Pilates to individual needs and goals.
The STOTT PILATES® method views neutral spinal curves as necessary and desirable. We like curves in our spines – curves help us stay upright with great posture. Focus on postural optimization and restoration of spinal curves leads to balance the body’s postural alignment properly. The STOTT PILATES® method takes very current knowledge of exercise science and sports medicine and incorporates new research and experience into Pilates. Like the original Pilates method, STOTT PILATES® strives to strengthen the body without building bulk.
